This story is detailing the events of Camden, owned by OphelliaOfficial , {me} and Cuebeila, owned by K-Thrillz12 and how they met and soon fell in love.

~

How could a normal day start out like this and end with such an amazing outcome? Camden had only been walking around the neighborhood park, a place very special to him, when he bumped into someone who would soon become very special to him. Of course the accident was entirely his fault, as he hadn’t been paying attention at all to what was in front of him but had been texting on his phone. His sister had been nagging him for a week; Wondering why he was going out to the neighborhood park so late and why he’d insist when stopped by his mother last night.

The collision caught the two parties off guard as it seems the octoling he’d bumped into had also been a bit distracted by something behind her. When Camden went to look up, he saw nothing of interest other than the octoling now rubbing her forehead. Whatever it was that was distracting her, had disappeared quite quickly once it realized it wasn’t alone with her anymore because he couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary now.

“Oh, sorry. I wasn’t looking.” He began to dust himself off and get up off the ground, offering a hand to the stranger. “Here, let me help you up.”

When looking at his hand, he caught a brief look from her. She seemed skeptical as if worried that he may hurt her yet the look was gone just as fast as it appeared as she grabbed a hold of his hand and pulled herself up. She took a glance behind her before turning back to Camden and offering a small smile in thanks.

“Are you okay? You seem a tad distracted?” He inquired, but only got a nod in response. “You don’t have to worry. Barely anyone comes out here this late.” And yet again only got a seemingly more distracted nod from her.

The two then just stood in silence, the other party looking increasingly agitated. “Can you tell me what’s going on? I don’t mean to intrude on your private matters but you seem a bit spooked and that’s not really a good sign for someone out this late.” The girl then proceeded to point to her throat, the promptly holding her hand out, like she was asking him to hand her something.

“What is it? What do you want?” She then proceeded to mime out talking on a phone, the promptly holding her hand out once more. The phone. She wanted to use his phone. “You want to call someone?” He questioned as he skeptically handed his phone over to her. She then started swiping through his phone until she began to type some long paragraph. When she handed his phone back, there was a block of text that read;

Hi, sorry about running into you. My name is Cuebeila and I’m actually completely mute. I know it seems weird to have me type on your phone rather that just have a notebook or something, but I actually left it at my house. I was quick to leave the area because of someone I thought I saw. It may have been nothing but better safe than sorry. I really didn’t want to encounter this particular person. He has given me and my friends a ton of misery and to send someone out to search for people isn’t even below him. so if he is the one behind this, we should probably get out of here. There’s no telling what he’ll do if he gets me alone.

When he looked back up at her, she looked very eager to leave the area. Expression one of panic and body language very uncomfortable. Camden knew he’d have to text his mother that he’d be home late, but there was no time for that now. Instead, he took a hold of her hand and started making his way down the other end of the park. Cuebeila followed along without hesitation.

Camden went quite a long way before he even considered slowing or even stopping. Eventually, when the did stop, they were in some alleyway that looked abandoned for quite some time. While he took a breath, Cuebeila reached her hand back out, gesturing for the phone once again and Camden complied, handing the phone over and leaning back over to catch his breath.  When she handed it back, the text read;

Thank you so much <3

I never caught your name, though now that I think about it, I don’t think you threw it, haha. Either way, you seem really nice for someone almost as distracted as me. What’s going on in your life? Maybe I can repay the favor you just gave me?

He became a tad defensive, looking back up at her. Talking about himself was never really his strong suit, even as a younger boy. Not that he had much regarding that part of his life. He just wanted to reply that, no, he didn’t need anything in return for the simple act of kindness when something come up in his subconscious.

“Actually, there may be something you can help me with, but it’s entirely up to you if you’re comfortable with it, okay?” He gave her a chance to respond, in which he gestured for him to go on. “Alright, so I am a lone wolf. I don’t enjoy hanging out with groups of people. My house is packed to the brim with inklings, octolings and nymphs alike. There’s even some smaller children, who can barely speak without squeaking in my ear. To get away from them, I take walks throughout the day. You with me so far?” She nodded fiercely.

“My mother is very protective about me going out all alone, since when she was even younger than I am now, she was working for some scumbag who forced her and her parents before her to work nonstop as a military force. And it’s not that I don’t get that, in fact, I understand it strongly as I’m fairly sure my birth parents went through the same thing and may have passed away during battle. So in order for her to allow me to keep going out for these escapades, I need to let her know I’m not alone. Do you get what I’m putting down?” This time it took her a bit longer to take it, but eventually, she gestured for the phone, to which he handed, hoping for a positive reaction. She handed it back and smiled. The text read;

Okay, that is quite a lot to take in but I think I get what you’re putting down. You want me to be somewhat of an excuse for you to get out of your crowded house for a while. Is that right? Cause if so, I really don’t have much to do after all, so I’m totally down for it. You can even stop by my house if you need to get out beforehand. You seem stressed out and now I can really understand why.

Oh yeah, I do have a phone, but at this point, it’s probably dead. Do you want to exchange numbers so we don’t have to make a meeting area? I don’t want to be waiting in an area alone for quite a while.

Taking his phone back for the last time that night, he saw that she had already put her number in his phone. “Thank you very much. You really don’t have to do this, but I’m so glad you’re down. Oh, here,” Camden reached down into his pockets and pulled out a bubble gum wrapper and the smallest pencil anyone would willingly write with and wrote his number in it. “Have my number too just in case. I can text you once I’m home.” He beamed brightly. She mirrored the sentiment, and just maybe smiled even brighter.

“Now, I’m going to be walking you home young lady, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” He said mockingly as she took his hand and started leading the way back to her place. It was a nice walk around the area and once she motions for them to stop, he assumed they were back at her place. She entered the doorway, waved him bye and shut the door ever so gently.

On his way back home, he passed through the park one last time just to make sure nothing was actually there, to which there was nothing. Good, she’s safe for now. That made his insides burn with delight. Once home, he found everyone asleep except his mother, who was just glad he was back safely. Hugs and kisses were thrown around as well as a lecture on letting people know where you are at all times.

The meetings between Camden and Cuebeila went on for a while without a hitch whatsoever. He’d text her that he needed space and she’d reply in record speed. A couple months went by and the meetings eventually evolved into the two of them just wanting to spend time together. When Camden finally got the balls to ask her out, it was actually too late, she had just asked him if they could go stead before he could even say a word, the sign covered hearts. He knew he’d have to say yes.

The two of them spent many days in silence, either reading, or drawing. He loved to help Cuebeila come up with new tattoo designs. They’d play games, and she’d kick major butt yet it was still the most fun he’d have.
